not able to upgrade

come up with
broken libcrypt1
this is on trisq 11

Please show the whole error message and give us context. Since you are referring to "broken" packages, I guess executing the following command in a terminal may solve your problem:
$ sudo apt-get -f install

Or just try to use another mirror in case that the usual one didn't have the libc6 ready in their repos.
