Installing LXDE
What is LXDE?
LXDE, (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment) is a free desktop environment for Unix and other POSIX platforms, such as GNU/Linux or BSD.
LXDE is meant to be a lightweight desktop environment that is installed by default on Trisquel Mini and is also used in other distributions such as Ubuntu, Linux Mint, or Manjaro. It is designed for older or low-resource computers with low energy use, because of its efficiency. Additionally, it offers a wide variety of customization options to adjust it to your liking in a simple, intuitive, and user-friendly manner.
LXDE is not designed to be as complex as KDE or GNOME. Unlike other desktop environments, the components are not tightly integrated. Instead, the components are independent, and each can be used separately with very few dependencies.
LXDE uses Openbox as its default window manager and aims to provide a lightweight and fast desktop, based on independent components that can be used in other environments.
