"Check disc for defects" doesn't finish with "check finished: no errors found"

Description

Steps to reproduce
* Boot the live system
* Select the option "Check disc for defects". It will display "checking ./casper/filesystem.squashfs" but it doesn't finish with the message "check finished: no errors found" after that, like in Ubuntu 16.04.

Trisquel 8.0 support ended in April 2021.
Please open a new issue in case it remains on the current supported release.
