I found some information about blivet-gui which is a graphical tool for storage management which supports e.g. LVM.

It is not in Trisquel's repo. Is it not FOSS or could there be another reason?

Blivet-GUI is under the GNU GPL: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/storaged-project/blivet-gui/refs/heads/main/COPYING

If a program is not in Debian's repository, it is usually absent from Ubuntu's and Trisquel's too.

Thanks, It should be then, fine to install it.
They recommend I install it from this source (opensuse): https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home:vtrefny&package=blivet-gui

But will adding the opensuse repository not confuse my system? How can I make sure that my system only installs and updates packages specific to the given program from the opensuse repo and not all my for all my programs?

The repository in question only has three packages: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/vtrefny/xUbuntu_22.04/all/

Following the instructions on https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home:vtrefny&package=blivet-gui for "xUbuntu 22.04" should be fine, if you use Trisquel 11, based on that version of Ubuntu. That said you have to trust whoever administrates the repository: (s)he could have added malware to the package or could do so in a future update.

To maximize the number of users benefiting from the package, it should bee added to Debian.
